Review – Koo-di Wetec

Written by Lauren. Posted in Baby Products, Reviews

We have been potty training Spud all summer but I have been too scared to go out without Pull Ups on.  I didn’t want to run out of spare trousers or have to sit him in a wet pushchair or car seat after an accident.  If he had an accident in the car or pushchair I would then have to wash and dry the seat covers quickly or be without transport the following day.  The lovely Helen from Munchkins and  Poppets asked if we would like to review the Ko0-di Wetec seat protector.

Review – B Sensible For Babies

Written by Lauren. Posted in Baby Products, Reviews

Be Sensible for Babies offer a revolutionary product that protects their mattresses from leaky nappies, sick, sweat and  all the other joys that come from babies as well as caring for their skin. The 2 in 1 fitted sheet and mattress protector has a Dermofresh waterproofing system and absorbs significantly more moisture than a standard cotton sheet.  It is hypoallergenic and protects that mattress using a stretchable, very fine polyurethane membrane backing which is breathable and virtually undetectable.  It is fast drying  helps and to control humidity and body temperature.  It is made from 100% Tencel which is a natural nanofibre made using wood pulp from sustainable sources.  It is soft as silk, smoother than cotton and reassuringly contains no pesticides or agricultural chemicals.  Even the manufacturing process is eco-friendly with 99.5% of the solvents recovered and reused as well as all the by-products being biodegradable. When we got asked to review a 2 in 1 fitted sheet and mattress protector I was a little sceptical.  I imagined a thick sheet with a plastic backing that made crinkling sounds that would disturb Spike every time he moved.  When I opened the packaging I was amazed.  It was so soft!  There wasn’t any hint of crinkling, even when screwing it up in my hands.  The sheet is about the same thickness as a standard cot sheet even though it has the added benefit of the waterproof layer.  I popped it onto his cot mattress and ran my hand along it.  I honestly wanted to get in and have a snooze.  Spike obviously wanted to put it through its paces because that night  he was sick in his cot for the first time in about 2 months.  I only noticed because his pyjama’s were wet when I went to check on him.  I couldn’t find any wet patches on the sheet so assumed he had only got it on himself.  The next morning I saw a rather sizable sick stain on the sheet right where I had been running my hands.  I popped it in the machine which was much easier than previous cot accidents as there was no fiddling around trying to get two sheets off and into the machine.  After the cycle finished I popped it on the line and was shocked at how fast it dried.  For the first time since I have had children I had been able to put a sheet back on the bed before the afternoon nap. As mentioned before the boys and I all suffer from dry skin and bouts of eczema, we haven’t had any breakouts that have obviously been affected by bedding but it is very reassuring to know that the B Sensible for Babies 2 in 1 sheet and mattress protector  has been clinically proven to be suitable for people suffering from conditions like eczema, asthma and rhinitis.  I can’t emphasis enough how soft the 2 in 1 sheet and mattress protector is to touch.  All of it’s features that make it unique benefit Spike, especially the temperature control because he is a very hot baby usually and sweats a lot.  With a B Sensible for Babies 2 in 1 sheet and mattress protector, I can sleep safe in the knowledge that he is cool and comfortable and should he have an accident it will be absorbed to such an extent that it won’t bother him. The 2 in 1 sheet and mattress protector comes in 24 different colours and various sizes including moses basket, cot, cot bed and 3 sizes of single bed.  We are getting Spud one or two when his new bed arrives because they will be a gods send when he starts to go without a nappy at night.  B Sensible also offer a range of products for adult beds so we will also be purchasing some for our bed as well.  Prices start at £19 but for the quality of this superb product it is definitely worth the price tag.
