Fisher-Price sent Dot their new Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Crawl Around Car to test out and since its arrival it has been played with daily by all three children.

When the parcel arrived I had Spike and Dot snapping at my heels to open it and I figured, with it being a Fisher-Price toy, it would be easy enough to open and give to them. I was wrong. It came in a whole big pile of pieces and required 21 screws to put together. The box wasn’t that much bigger than the assembled car so it would have been nice if there wasn’t so much work in putting it together, especially with it’s RRP being £69.99.
It was easy to put together and they both wanted to lend a hand as they were so keen to start playing. Without little hands “helping” it would probably take 5-10 minutes to put together and be sure to have batteries to hand as it requires 3 x AA that aren’t supplied.
Once together Dot was straight in, exploring every aspect of the car laughing as she went. The steering wheel has a lot of features and she sat for a long time pressing the buttons and dancing to the songs. Over the next few days every time we put her down in the living room she went straight to the car and started playing so it’s definitely a hit with her.
I love the changing stages, the Smart Stages technology increases the lifespan of the toy massively and caters for a huge range of developmental learning so it definitely justifies the price tag. Despite being five and three, Spud and Spike are both extremely excited by the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Crawl Around Car and many a fight has broken out between who gets to sit in the drivers seat. I have lost count of the amount of times that I have said “Boys, this is a baby toy, a toy for Dot.” Luckily Dot has decided that the best way around it is to just sit on the lap of whoever won’t budge. Apparently the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Smart Stages Crawl Around Car is also an excellent place to sit whilst playing the Xbox!
Overall I think it is a great baby learning toy and I absolutely love the new Smart Stages technology and look forward to experiencing it on other Fisher-Price toys.
