Having two boisterous big brothers it is not always practical for Dot to be on the floor, no matter how much she wants to be down there joining in! The Boys are generally very good with her but can forget or kick a limb out a little too far and near misses are a plenty. We tried having her in a Bumbo and a M&P Snug but she never seemed comfortable. Both saw her hunched over and I didn’t like how much pressure appeared to be on her tummy.
When Fisher-Price told me that they were bringing out a Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat that was designed for babies to be upright and able to see and interact with the world around them I was intrigued and delighted to be offered one to review.
When the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat arrived I found it extremely easy to put together even without the instructions. It was simply a case of slotting the bits together and putting the seat fabric on. The soft seat fabric is easily removable and totally machine washable and offers a comfortable and supportive upright position.
The first time that I put Dot into the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat I was immediately impressed with the seating position. Her bottom doesn’t touch the floor so she isn’t forced into a right angle seated position, it is more sling like and offers excellent support for her legs.
There are two linkable toys attached to the brightly coloured seat and the wide sturdy base meant that no matter how much trashing around Dot did playing with them the seat didn’t move an inch. There is absolutely no way of her being able to tip it up. Dot absolutely loved the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat. I was able to move her around the house with me and she was able to watch me cook and watch her brothers play.
Now that she was able to see what was going on and actually get to interact and laugh with the boys, I had two little babysitters on hand to entertain her whilst I was busy and I was totally safe in the knowledge that she could come to no harm whilst I was distracted
The Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat is collapsible with the touch of two buttons on the side (you can see the yellow button on the photo above) so we were able to take it away with us at Easter meaning that Dot could watch and interact with my parents dogs safely.
We all absolutely love the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat and I would recommend it to anybody. It would have been fantastic to have from an earlier age as it is suitable from when they can hold their own head, as now that she is sitting unaided and almost crawling she doesn’t want to be restricted anymore. The Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat has an RRP of £39.99 which is a great price for the quality that you receive.
