When www.playhouses.co.uk asked if we would like to review the Rocket Play Tent I knew I would get an obscene amount of brownie points from the boys so didn’t even hesitate with saying yes. When it arrived I was quite shocked with how small and light the box was, knowing that it was going to be 1.1m wide and 1.4m tall!
I opened it up and set to work with both Spud and Spike on hand to help me out. It was relatively simple to put together and although it comes with screws I didn’t use them because I knew I wouldn’t be able to get it through the living room door if I did! It was fully erected within about 10 minutes simply by connecting the bits of wood with plastic connectors. The boys were raring blast off of an adventure.
The frame is made from strong pinewood and the cover from waterproof polyester. Although it is suitable for playing with outside and feels like it is brilliant quality, I certainly wouldn’t leave it up to battle through winter. Without screwing it together it is extremely easy to put together and take apart for storage which is brilliant for us and our small house. Even without screws it is extremely stable with the help from the base fins and the fitted cover. There are 3 windows and a door which gives plenty of opportunities for the boys to survey the room around them and also for me to peek my head in and see what sort of trouble they are getting up to.
Overall it is superb quality, the fabric is nice and thick and will withstand tough toddler play. The boys both love it and Spud even asked me if he could sleep in it on the first night which was a huge success and he slept better than he does in his bed!
