Spike has always liked building things and mastered stacking rings at 9 months old so we were always mightily impressed with his hand eye co ordination. He makes a beeline for bricks and stacking toys when we go to groups or crèche so when Megabloks asked if he would like to review their First Builders range we jumped at the chance.
We were sent the Build ‘N Learn table (RRP ££39.99) and a Big Building Bag containing 60 bricks. (RRP £14.99) The Build ‘N Learn table is completely portable and the legs fold down quickly to make storing it a extremely easy. It has four segments to the top that lock in to make a small car track for the included vehicle and to open up the table to store the bricks inside.
The table comes with 25 pieces including the little car and driver and is brightly coloured and stimulating. There is also a sheet of stickers with bright A,B,C’s and 1,2,3’s to decorate some of the bricks.
The Megabloks First Builders range is aimed for children aged 1 year and up and will last for years. The Big Building Bag contains 60 chunky, colourful bricks of different sizes to make a whole range of different things. The bag is strong and durable and a great place to store the bricks when they aren’t being played with. The bricks are very good quality and Spud loved playing with them as much as Spike. He loved racing his cars around the track and building obstacles for them and it created a great space for them to play nicely together.
The bricks are a brilliant size for little hands and Spike finds it easy to build with them and has created some cracking towers with them! It also provides a stable platform for them both when building as the carpet would make it too much of a challenge with wobble that it created.
Overall the Megabloks First Builders Build ‘N Learn Table and Big Building Bag are a big hit in this house, the table sturdy and portable and the reusable bag for the Big Building Bag is brilliant.
