It’s All Change
It’s been awfully quiet on the Blog recently because it’s been so manic here that I simply haven’t had to the time to fit it in with the necessary things in life like eating and sleeping! Disregarding me being ill with Tonsillitis (AGAIN) and then having a cold straight afterwards, the Boys had all the madness leading up to the end of term and the Hubby was working here, there and everywhere. When we thought we had a set routine something would jump in and jumble it up.
Before I went to my parents last month we had decided to get rid of the boys playroom. Their toys were forever seeping out into the rest of my downstairs and this was starting to defeat the whole reason I gave them a playroom in the first place. We had decided to move the boys into the biggest bedroom with their toys, move us into the smaller room and keep the box room as our study. This freed up a whole room downstairs which made sense to move my dining table into but that would leave us with a big empty space in the living room.
After umming and ahhing for days I suddenly wondered why on earth I was sacrificing my big bedroom and going into a room barely big enough for our bed. At first we opted to keep the boys sharing and then give them a play room upstairs. After a week of Spud waking up at 6am and then waking Spike making him a grumpy bum that actually there was no reason for them to share. Thus the big room change began. Spud stayed in his original room and Spike moved into the box room and the toys were split between the two.
The study moved downstairs into the old playroom and suddenly became OUR playroom! We both have desktop PCs which take up a fair bit of room so a study is somewhat of a must especially to keep the shiny power buttons out of Spike’s reach. We both have visions of completely kitting it out with a TV on the wall a sofa to relax on, better PC’s, better organisation for the “admin” part of life and probably a sign on the door saying “no kids allowed!” The first thing I am buying now that we have the space for one is a printer. The amount of times I have to go to the library and pay to use theirs is ridiculous. When we have a printer we never have any ink so it’s also a question of do we really need one?!
In amongst all this moving and sorting we decorated our lounge. We’ve never really opted on a colour scheme before so after persuading the Hubby that with 3 boys in the house I deserved a girly room we picked purple. It has been great fun finding things to put in there and has given me a bit of a bug to decorate the rest of the house!
