Review – Firefly Love Potion

Written by Lauren on. Posted in Food & Drink, Reviews

With Valentines Day just around the corner the shops are filling up with hearts, glitter, teddies and all the other smooshy stuff associated with celebrating the lovey dovey day.  The Hubby and I aren’t really into Valentines Day.  I think he has been working every year since we met anyway so there was never any time to do anything.  As far as I see it we love each other every day and don’t need to celebrate one day a year just for the sake of it.  I tend to walk past all the red, glittery crap love tokens with my blinkers on so when a Love Potion email popped into my inbox I must admit I let out an almighty sigh.

After an inital browse I realised that it was actually for a yummy sounding, limited edition drink and just bit of fun.  I spent the next few days teasing the Hubby saying that a drink full of aphrodisiacs was winging it’s way to us and he eagerly awaited the postman!

Like all Firefly natural drinks the Love Potion is made from original blends of fruit juices and natural botanicals with no sugar and absolutely nothing artificial.  It is Passion Fruit and Blueberry flavour and packed to the rafters with nature’s naughty botanicals like Angelica and Chocolate.  However even with the promise of 100% natural ingredients the juices are from concentrate.  The bottle is very eye catching and I loved that the lid had a “With Love from Firefly” message on the top.  It can be used as a mixer added to Champagne and the like but I decided just to pop it open one day when I was thirsty and saw it on the side!  Like most natural drinks it was delicious.  It was a real thirst quencher and I didn’t need to down the whole bottle to feel the relief.  Sadly for the Hubby the natural naughty ingredients didn’t have me throwing myself at him!  It would make a lovely gift for somebody as it’s quite quirky and tastes lovely as well.

The limited edition Firefly Love Potion will be in Harvey Nichols, Wholefoods, Harrods and all quality independent outlets from end of January 2012 with an RRP of £1.69.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review. However, we did receive the product for review purposes. This post is my own honest opinion. For more information please see our Disclosure Policy.
