WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT – Green Giant: The Abel & Cole Hamper
A few weeks ago we ran a competition with Green Giant to win an Abel & Cole hamper. We received some fab comments with some of my favourites being:
“Start as you mean to go on- as soon as they can have solids, give them good food! My 4 year old now loves veggies. No problem! But I’ve seen other mums with problems. Best way seems to be to put dessert in reach for a bribe!” “Occassionaly my daughter will get really fussy and decide the vegetables she liked the day before, are now horrible. When shes like that I make my super pasta. I blend tinned tomatoes, red peppers, onions, garlic, celery, garlic, courgette, and carrots, and add lots of herbs and spices. Heat it up and mix pasta into it. Serve with grated cheese, and she thinks shes eating cheese and tomato pasta!” “Chips ‘n’ Dips. By chips i don’t mean potato chips! I roast, boil or steam Sweet Potato / Carrot/ Parsnip / Asparagus or even purple sprouting Broccoli cut into batons which i call ‘freaky fingers’ then make some fresh dips to accompany them. Guacamole which is the easiest thing to make as it is essentially Avacado with a bit of lemon and herbs is tranformed into ‘Slimey snot’ (yes i know it doesn’t sound appetising!) or Salsa crammed with Blitzed Tomato, Peppers, Onion, Oregano, Lemon and coriander becomes ‘Monsters Brains’ which is always a hit! Making dips is so simple and anything (even HOMEMADE fish fingers) can be dipped! For a cheat i also stick V-8 juice in to the pan when i make soups and stews!” “Make faces or scenes on the plate ie brocolli trees”
It was extremely hard to choose a winner but we are delighted to announce that the winning comment came from:
JENNIFER O’BRIEN
