Review – Let’s Rock Elmo

Written by Lauren on. Posted in Reviews, Toys

During the Summer we got the amazing opportunity to meet Elmo from Sesame Street.  Elmo was here to visit the sights of London and for a very special play date with his friends from Channel 5’s Milkshake.  He managed to take time out of his busy schedule to have lunch with Spud and some of his friends.

Whilst we were there Spud was lucky enough to play with one of this years must have Christmas presents.

Let’s Rock Elmo is an interactive rocking Elmo that plays the drums, tambourine and sings using his microphone.  Cleverly placed sensors tell Elmo exactly what instrument it is that he has and he interacts accordingly encouraging your toddler to join in.  There is a button cleverly hidden under the fur on his foot and also one on his nose if he needs any encouragement to change songs or instruments.    The instruments are the perfect size for toddler sized hands so if Elmo is jamming with the tambourine Spud can happily bop along on the drums.  He sings 6 different songs including the “ABC” and “Elmo’s World” and has countless phrases.  Since coming home with our very own Let’s Rock Elmo, Spud has discovered the joys of singing so loves joining in and has even started picking up the letters of the alphabet during the ABC song.  He can also tell me before Elmo even gets to that part of the song that he loves Crayons in the song Elmo’s world!

It is a great learning aid, teaching Spud which instrument is which and encouraging his creative side with his singing.  The fact that he has gone from being totally uninterested in me teaching him the alphabet to singing along putting letters into the correct places in a matter of weeks is fantastic.  He has always been gripped to the ABC song when watching Elmo but there is only so many times he would sit and watch the ABC song over and over on the TV!  Let’s Rock Elmo keeps him entertained for hours and Spike even sits there in awe clapping away as Elmo bops along singing songs to him.

To make Let’s Rock Elmo even more exciting there are three larger instruments available to purchase separately.  The Grover Microphone, Elmo Guitar and Cookie Monster Keyboard all interact with Elmo to add even more fun to an already jam packed toy.

It really is a great toy and I can see why it will be top of everyone’s Christmas lists this year.  With an RRP of £69.99, the price does take some people’s breath away but when you consider how brilliantly interactive and educational  Let’s Rock Elmo is, it is worth every single penny.

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review. However, we did receive the product for review purposes. This post is my own honest opinion. For more information please see our Disclosure Policy.
