Review – Dr Brown’s Soft-Spout Cup

Written by Lauren on. Posted in Baby Products, Reviews

After trying numerous types of baby bottle when Spike suffered from reflux we eventually settled on Dr Brown’s anti colic bottles.  We are currently going through the same rigmarole trying numerous cups in an attempt to get Spike to drink water.  A lot have started off successful and then become great teethers for him resulting in water going all down his front.  Dr Brown’s asked us to review their Soft-Spout Cup and I lived in hope that it wouldn’t become another over-sized teething toy.

Suitable from 6 months the Dr Brown’s 170ml Soft Spout Cup is BPA free with a sip-activated valve and can be washed on the top shelf of a dishwasher.  It is spill proof and only releases fluid when in the babies mouth.  A great feature is that the removable handles, spout and lid are all interchangeable with all Dr Brown’s cups.

I gave it to Spike and unlike some other cups he found it extremely easy to hold and popped it straight into his mouth.  It has measurement markings on the side which are extremely handy for judging how much fluid early drinkers are taking.  I was a little sceptical about the flat spout but found that he didn’t chew it like he did with others because it wasn’t big enough to sooth any sore gums.  We have struggled with some other cups with large spouts and found the small flat spout didn’t bother him at all.

It’s priced at £5.10 so on par with other branded cups but with the added features of the markings and interchangeable components it makes it excellent value for money.  Overall a great cup and touch wood we have found THE one!

I did not receive any financial reward for writing this review. However, we did receive the product for review purposes. This post is my own honest opinion. For more information please see our Disclosure Policy.
