For weeks I have been talking about Potty Training Spud. I started during the Easter Holidays but he would get very frustrated every time I asked him if he wanted to go for a wee wee so after 5 accidents we decided to leave him a little bit longer. The Summer Holidays are fast approaching and Creche have told me that he asks to use their Potty so I should definitely be thinking about doing it. I told them as soon as the holidays start we are going at it with both barrels as he has been showing signs at home that he might be ready. This morning for example his nappy leaked through and he was shouting that he was wet.
I am absolutely terrified. It’s a mixture of trying to get him to understand, trying not get angry at accidents and the fact that my tiny baby is growing up. Loosing his nappy will turn him in to a proper little boy rather than my vulnerable little baby. Don’t get me wrong I don’t like changing nappies but just the fact that he relies on me for something! I know he will still be my little baby that gives me cuddles and kisses but to me it is one of the final steps out of babyhood. That aside I know that it is something that has to be done so trying to look at it positively and perhaps even make it a fun experience for us both!
Last week Huggies_UK announced on Twitter the release of their new Potty Training App for the iPhone. I immediately downloaded it ready to embark on the great potty training adventure with Spud next week. It was free to download and after a quick play I found all of its funky features (It will be reviewed once we have used it properly)
Huggies_UK heard of our enthusiasm and offered to send us some Pull Up’s to review. Yesterday a HUGE box arrived from Huggies which took me totally by surprise as I had been expecting a small sample packet!
We have been invited to take part in “The Huggies Potty Training Challenge!” I was most excited and start sifting through our new goodies, which included some Pull Ups, a guide to Potty Training and some wet wipes. Pretty much everything we need to get us started!
I have hidden the box from Spud because I am hoping that it will get him excited about our new adventure when the time comes next week to properly start potty training.
Our aim is to go cold turkey without Nappies during the day and wear Huggies Pull Ups in bed. We will be doing daily updates on our Blog so you can track his progress on our Twitter and Facebook pages. We will also include reviews on the Pull Ups, iPhone app and any other gadget or product that we find handy on our journey.
